Steelcalc Version 5.2.7 Released
with Library 30 Update (21/01/2010)
Software Changes
As requested by our Customers – more accurate calculations on steel sections with the inclusion of root and corner radii. These generally, result in a small reduction to girths (between 1 to 2%) and a lowering of A/V figures. Some small, thick wall SHS/RHS will have a greater % reduction.
To all users - Make a copy of your projects before
updating to the new library version. If you do not want to update
your projects when opening them in Steelcalc then choose not to
update when you see the update prompt appear.

Root radii (Plate members) and external corner radii (RHS & SHS members) are used in the calculation of girths to
standard sections.
Radii figures and allowances taken from Corus ‘Dimensions & Properties’ tables in accordance with BS EN 10056-1: 1999, BS 4-1: 2005, BS EN 10210-2 and Arcelor tables for European sections.
