As requested by our Customers
– more accurate calculations on steel sections with the
inclusion of root and corner radii. These generally, result in a
small reduction to girths (between 1 to 2%) and a lowering of A/V
figures. Some small, thick wall SHS/RHS will have a greater %
reduction.
Change to Steelcalc Licence
Root radii (Plate members) and external corner
radii (RHS & SHS members) are used in the calculation of
girths to standard sections.
Radii figures and allowances taken from Corus ‘Dimensions
& Properties’ tables in accordance with BS EN 10056-1: 1999,
BS 4-1: 2005, BS EN 10210-2 and Arcelor tables for European
sections.
